How to Improve the Natural Power Factor of Generating Sets

During the daily use of gasoline generator sets, the gasoline engine will generally experience power loss, and the power factor of the generator set will also be reduced to 0.8. So how do we use it to improve the power factor of gasoline generator sets:

(1) Reasonable use of motors;

(2) Improve the maintenance quality of asynchronous motors;

(3) Synchronous motor: The active power consumed by a synchronous motor depends on the mechanical load on the motor, while the reactive power depends on the excitation current in the rotor. In the underexcited state, the stator winding "absorbs" reactive power from the grid, and in the overexcited state, the stator winding "sends" reactive power to the grid. Therefore, the synchronous motor can be used as the power of large mechanical equipment, and has the characteristics of constant speed and long-term operation.

The synchronous operation of the asynchronous motor is to correctly connect the three-phase rotor windings of the asynchronous motor and connect the DC excitation current to make it run as a synchronous motor, which is "synchronous asynchronous motor".

(4) Reasonably select the capacity of distribution transformers and improve the operation mode of distribution transformers: For distribution transformers with low load rates, the method of "removal, replacement, closing, and shutdown" is generally adopted to increase their load rates to the optimum value , thereby improving the natural power factor of the grid.
